June 23rd 2008

Chicago, IL - Towers Productions, Inc., the Chicago-based producer of factual and entertainment programs, announced today that it has named Peter Marks as its Vice-President of Development

In his new role, Mr. Marks will oversee all of the Company’s creative and business development activities as well as its client relationships, and will manage the company’s Development Department staff.  Marks will continue to report directly to both the Company’s Chairman and Executive Producer Jonathan Towers and to CEO William Fisher.

Melissa Cutlip, Towers Productions’ former Director of Development, has left the Company to pursue other interests.

Jonathan Towers said of the appointment: “Peter is a seasoned and savvy executive who brings a keen business instinct to the creative process.  He is also one of those rare development execs who has had extensive hands-on production experience.  He has served as a key team member of our creative team, and I am delighted that he will now contribute to our success as a member of the management team.”

Peter Marks added:  “I met Jonathan when he was an upstart producing documentaries out of a one-bedroom apartment,” Marks said.  “It’s been a thrill to see the company take off over the years, and I’m excited to be a part of that growth.”  He added: “I work with so many talented and passionate filmmakers, and I think that enthusiasm shows onscreen.”

Mr. Marks has served as the Towers Productions’ Director of Development since January 2007, in which role he was instrumental in developing several of the Company’s current series and specials, including multiple projects with Discovery Networks.  Before joining the Development Department, he produced numerous television documentaries for Towers Productions - most recently “Biography: Aaron Spelling.”

Mr. Marks received a Cine Golden Eagle Award for Best Documentary Feature (“The Hidden History of Chicago,” 1999) and his journalism and fiction have appeared in the New York Times, Chiron and The MacGuffin.  A graduate of Stanford University (BA, 1994) and the USC School of Film and Television (MFA, 2002), Mr. Marks is a member of the Independent Writer’s Caucus of the Writer’s Guild of America.
