SAVED FROM THE WRECKING BALL tells the compelling story of famed architect Mies van der Rohe and his often tempestuous relationship with his client, Dr. Edith Farnsworth. In 1951, van der Rohe designed a glass house for Farnsworth that would later become an icon of modernist architecture. This program documents how this house was built and the romantic intrigue and contentious legal battles that came with it. Host Geoffrey Baer follows this saga through the home’s subsequent owners, and the ongoing efforts to preserve it.
